Wrist Surgury
I had surgery on my left wrist to remove two Ganglion cysts in ‘02. Everything was fine up to a few weeks ago where my wrist got swollen. I went in today and my wrist surgeon looked at it and instantly knew they had reappeared. He first tried to drain it by sticking me with a horse needle and drawing the fluid out. The fluid was a thick gelatine substance that clogged the syringe. So then he attemped to expand the cyst and shatter the cyst wall. So now I have to wear a wrist brace for the next 1 - 2 weeks to see if the cyst will reappear again. Needless to say, I’m pretty upset because I was supposed to go golfing this Thursday at Fireridge and obviouisly can’t anymore. Hopefully I won’t be out of action too long.

I had one on my wrist, and they did the procedure you described with the drainage, and the horse needle. Only with mine, they immediately inserted some other fluid to ‘dissolve’ the ‘ball.’ It slowly shrunk, and in a matter of 3-4 months it was gone. I haven’t had any problems of reappearance or pain or any discomfort since. I know the pain of these things.
