What Type of Club Shaft Do You Prefer
I just wanted to get a feel for what other golfers prefer when it comes to the flexibility of the club shaft. Personally, I prefer to play with a regular flex golf club shaft. My swing isn’t insanely fast, so using a stiff or extra stiff club shaft throws off my swing.
One of my buddies I regularly play with, plays with stiff clubs. His swing is pretty fast and he consistently hits the ball off the drive 290 - 300 yards. I don’t necessarily know if that means the stiffer the club shaft the further the drive, but usually those who do have a faster club speed tend to play with stiffer club shafts.
Although, choosing the right shaft flexibility for you is important. You need something that works well with your swing. Take for example you have a fast swing. If you’re using a regular shaft, the club head is going to be trailing behind the club too much on your swing because the club is bending too much.
To figure out which flexibility is best for you, just go out an hit clubs of all types. You’ll then learn what you hit best with and should stick with that.
