Tiger’s Huge 155-Foot Yacht
After finding out Tiger owned his own 155-foot yacht, I had to do a little more research.
Tiger purchased the mega-yacht when he was 28 from Christensen Shipyards — which is a Vancouver firm. The yacht cost $20 million and was named “Privacy”. During the purchase, Tiger had Christensen sign a confidentiality agreement so that he couldn’t release any information that Tiger had purchased a yacht from him or release the name of the yacht.
However, he broke their confidentiality agreement and sent in pictures to many yachting magazines. Tiger filed a lawsuit against him to compensate damages that could exceed $50 million.
Personally, I think that was probably the best thing that could of happened to Tiger. I mean you drop $20 million on a mega-yacht and make the sellers sign a confidentiality agreement. They sellers then break that agreement and you make your $20 million back plus $30 million more! At least that extra $30 million will cover the yacht’s expenses for the next few years.
