The Birdie Ball — A Must Get

Just today, I received a package in the mail at the folks over at The Savvy Golfer. The package included:
Needless say the first thing that intrigued me when I opened the package were the BirdieBalls. They’re small hallow cylinders that are supposed to fly like actual golf balls, but not as far. I remember running across their website a while back, but really thought nothing of it. After holding one in my hands I was a little skeptical and had to test this out to see what it would do.
I went to my bag and pulled out my 8 iron. I then walked behind my house to this huge open hill — I usually hit wiffle balls around with my clubs down the hill, but this time it was the BirdieBalls turn. My first thought that ran through my head looking down on it was is this really going to work. I mean obviously it doesn’t look like a golf ball, so how is this going to fly like one. I then lined up and swung down at it and was amazed with how it flew. I had to hit it again. I ran and picked it up — it must of only traveled around 35 yards or so. I then hit it again just like I’d normally hit an 8 iron and it did the same thing — it flew high and straight, again only going right around 35 yards.
The BirdieBall is great for practicing every type of shot. You can hit it with your irons, hybrids, or even your fairway woods.
I’d recommend the BirdieBall to anyone wanting to practice their swing. The BirdieBall is good for just practicing hitting a straight shot, or to work on draws and fades. I’d say the BirdieBall has to be one of the simplest yet most efficient practice aids I’ve tried yet, plus they’re tons of fun to hit around. You MUST hit them yourself to realize the true brilliance of the BirdieBall. Pick up a dozen now for $24.99 at The Savvy Golfer.

I couldn’t agree more. What an awesome idea. Birdieballs are changing the idea of golf away from the golf course. I spend hours hitting them to my yellow lab. He is crazy about them. Because they make a whirring, turbine sound, he can actually catch then “over the shoulder” style.
