Another day at Mee-Kwon
I went out to Mee-Kwon today with a few friends and played the back nine. The weather today was less the favorable, but it wasn’t horrible. I swear the wind was 20mph and ALWAYS in my face at every tee box. Nonetheless, I ended up shooting a 46. My iron shots weren’t the greatest, but my play around the green was solid. I don’t know what it is, but my putting and chipping this season has been awesome.
Anyway, I think the thing that bothers me most about playing at Mee-Kwon is the speed of the greens. They’re way too slow. I feel like I have to blast the ball just to make a 20 foot putt. Granted I play really well on them because I’m used to how their greens play, but it hurts me when I play at a course like Fire Ridge that has awesome greens. I forget I don’t need to power the ball to get it to the hole and usually end up way past the hole and sometimes off the green.
Overall, it was an enjoyable day out. I was able to get some sun and have a good time with my friends. Hopefully next time out I’ll figure out what my problem is with my irons and bring that score down a few strokes.
