Algarve World Cup
The first round of the Algarve World Cup finished up today. I was able to catch most of it on TV, but as life goes I wasn’t able to sit at home and watch the whole thing.
England is in the lead after the first round, but only by a stroke. India and Australia are following closely behind in a tie for second.
Aside from Algarve World Cup for a moment, my friend Andrew told me a funny story about golf in Portugal which by the way is where Algarve is located.
He told me he read a news story a few months back on how Portugal was going through a drought and the only water to be found was at the golf courses. The farmers were up in arms obviously, but they couldn’t do anything about it. The golf course owners needed the water to keep their grass growing and they had the money to do it.
It’s a good thing to know that there will still be nice, watered, and well kept grass during a drought. At least we’ll be able to still play golf. I mean hey, who needs food if we can still golf!
